Las Vegas Housing Market Springs Forward - Homes, Condos and Townhomes

Las Vegas Housing Market
The Great Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR) released housing statistics for March – and the numbers show the once battered and bruised market is now doing quite well. Over 60% of homes are selling in 60 days or less, prices remained low at $205,000, and sales increased nearly 40% - a one month increase not seen in nearly a decade.

“Even I’m a little shocked by the massive uptick in sales compared to just 30 days ago. It’s encouraging because the increased activity wasn’t driven by a massive pricing drop or increased investors swooping up foreclosures. For the most part, it’s normal, every day Las Vegans buying and selling homes,” said local Las Vegas NV Realtor Leslie Hoke.

Hoke, who obtains her data from the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, stated the increase is the largest month over month gain seen since 2006, nearly a decade ago.

Southern Nevada has received a great deal of positive media attention from real estate experts and pundits predicting the market would see a nice turnaround for 2015. So far their predictions are accurate, but Hoke cautions buyers and sellers to be cautiously optimistic.
