Best Places to Live Without a College Degree

A recent blog post by Movoto.com named three southern Nevada cities among the top ten places to live in the United States without a college degree. North Las Vegas and Henderson ranked numbers one and two respectively, while Las Vegas came in at seventh.  Local real estate agents such as Leslie Hoke were pleased with the announcement – where she subsequently reported the good news on her popular real estate blog.

“There is no question that in today’s knowledge economy, it’s beneficial to earn a college degree, but it’s nice to know that in southern Nevada a person can still earn a livable wage without one. I think it shows we have a diverse economy here that makes a place for all types of workers,” Hoke said.

“I typically brush off many ‘Top Ten’ lists because they’re more click bait than anything, but the Movoto list was based on sound economic data including median annual wages, percentage of non-college grads with health insurance, and the employment rate for non-college grads. I’m big into using real estate data myself, so it was nice to see a top ten list based on statistical analysis,” said Hoke.
